At facebook there are approximately 901 million monthly active users. When millions of people gather somewhere its not necessary that everyone is good and playing fair. Spammers and SCAMS these two words almost becoming synonym to each other. As there are daily thousands of spams posts are shared, in which most of them are SCAMS and full of viruses to infect your computer. Even hackers use these spam and malicious links to get your personal information for there atrocious unlawful acts.

Strong Password


This is the most important and prime step to do. If you dont have an strong password anyone (most probably a hacker) can get into your account and miss use it. Pickup a strong password, which is based on non dictionary word and should be alpha numeric. Try to blend to different words even from different language origins.

Spot Spam in News feed


If you find an unbelievable offer that looks too good to be true, it probably a spam link. You have to constantly look for these kind of links in your facebook newsfeed, but you also have to report that spam story to the facebook. This is how you will not even save yourself but even millions of other people on facebook.

Sync your mobile number


This is one the most secure security measure to help and ensure that Facebook remains a community of people with their real identities to connect and share. If you ever lose your password, you’ll also be able to use your mobile number to access your account. So sync your mobile phone with your account on your first preference.

End your active Sessions


The Active Sessions are a list of the recent times your Facebook account has been accessed. Each entry includes the date, time and approximate location when signing in, and the type of device used to access your account.

You should end these session whenever you decide to log out or stop using facebook. To end an session follow these simple steps.

1. Go to your Security Settings page (Account > Account Security > Security)
2. Click on the Active Sessions section
3. Click on the end activity link on the right side of the session you want to end.

Log out every time


When ever you decide to leaving you computer after using facebook, you should log out from your account. More important if you are using a public computer like in your school or public library. You should clear the history of the browser as well.
